RELEASE Client Story: Julie Scott

Before working with Claudine

I recently had foot surgery, which meant being in a cast for 3 months, non-weight bearing and getting about on crutches. When I was told I could bear weight on the foot again I found the muscles in my foot and ankle had become much weakened and were extremely painful. I also found the process of walking properly again slow and challenging. It was frustrating to think that three months of not using my foot and leg would mean having to learn to walk again.

Julie’s key points…

  • Being able to re-train the brain to relax muscles habitually caught in a pattern learned either over time or by stress, injury/trauma made a lot of sense to me in my situation.

  • Once I decided to work with Claudine, one of the things that was clear at the start was that my co-ordination had gone a bit awry.

  • Being recorded walking at the start and again after 3 months was amazing to see how I’d gone from walking hunched forward to walking upright. That helped me match up what I looked like walking with what it felt like from inside and make it a permanent change.

  • I’m very pleased I did the programme, not only because it has made such a change to my walking and posture, but I now have a routine of exercises which I see as tools for life to maintain those elements and my well-being.

What others should know about Claudine…

I struggled with a few of the exercises, but Claudine is great at keeping you on track and motivated.
